Happy Endings

Once an animal leaves the shelter with it's new family, our staff and volunteers are always thrilled to hear how they are doing in their new home. Whether it's a letter with a photo, phone call, personal visit, or This email address is being protected from spambots. Our Boy Tiger!

We wanted to send you an update after having adopted Tiger from you guys, to tell you how amazing he is! He is such a cuddle cat and he is ever so playful for a guy his age. He keeps my boyfriend company since my boyfriend works at home, and Tiger loves to have his say in meetings when the phone is on speaker phone haha. He has done so much for us and we could not have imagined getting a better friend for life! Thank you so much WSHS!

Lukas Finds A New Home!

I wanted to update you on Sunny, formerly known as Lukas. Sunny has been part of our family now for 8 months and he has settled in very well as you can see by the picture. He is very healthy and happy and we are so glad that he came into our lives. We named him Sunny because he brightens up our day and he brings a smile to everyone he greets when we are out on one of our many long walks.   Thanks for letting us bring him home to live with us.

Tori: One Happy Kitty!

My husband and I are thrilled to report that Tori, whom we have renamed Carmelita, is one happy kitty! She is the most affectionate cat ever! She loves being rocked in our arms like a baby, adores snuggle time, and even enjoys Mama's tummy kisses. She really is the light of our lives and certainly enjoys being the center of our attention. She is just perfect. We want to extend big thank you hugs to all who helped bring this sweet muffin into our world!   We truly appreciate your warmth and kindness during the adoption process.

Blue: A Sweet and Loving Boy!

Blue is an incredibly sweet and loving dog. He likes to play and always loves meeting new people. We call him our "old man" puppy because he can be very cautious and skeptical of new situations. Though with enough encouragement and praise he always comes around. We've been lucky enough to stay in contact with Delta's (formerly Coco) owner Derrick, and have gotten the pups together at the dog park several times. They love seeing each other and stick together the whole time, playing around and wrestling. This past weekend we went exploring in the Maquoketa Caves in Iowa. Again, blue was a bit skeptical at first but we eased him into the experience and he had a great time. He always loves playing in the snow! We can't wait till the summer for all the camping trips we will take him on.

Moscato: A Real Joy!

Moscato is doing really well. His favorite activity is ripping toilet paper and paper towels (we have learned our lesson about leaving paper towel rolls on the floor - see picture below). He is extremely social and spends most of his time following the family members around, purring, and begging for treats. He also enjoys the company of my daughter's german shepherd, as long as he has his humans around to protect him :) We love Mo and he brings great joy to our family.

Katie Has Found Her Forever Home!

Things with Katie have been good, she has settled in a lot more now and is learning our routines, so potty time and bed time are much smoother processes now (she used to start jumping up or running around to play when it was bedtime, and it would take a while to settle in, but now she happily finds her spot to lay down with a toy or two; in the beginning we had a few potty accidents in the house too, but that hasn't happened in a long time now that we have potty treats and a good routine). We want to thank you again for introducing us to Katie. Life wasn't the same after I lost my German shepherd, Guinness, to cancer. I think after all those years with a furry family member, life couldn't be the same without a dog. While I still miss him terribly, Katie has been great about reminding me to take time to play or get outside and take a walk among all the business of life.

Halas: We Just Love Him!

Halas has been a wonderful addition to our family. He has been a dream kitten. I don't think our other cat would agree with me though. She is old and cranky and Halas just wants to play with her. He will also lay next to her and lick her head. He loves the kids and comes out of his secret napping spots the minute he hears them walk through the door. He allows them to hold and cuddle him. This was something they wanted so badly because our other cat doesn't tolerate any contact. We just love him!

Kaylie: A Real Dream!

Kaylie has been a dream! She has been a perfect match for us and our home. She is in training at our local Petco, she's now 17 lbs, and we decided to keep her at Partners & Paws for her Vet needs. Honestly, she's the love of my life. She's brought so much joy and laughter and light into my days. I'm soooooooooo glad we adopted her. And I really appreciate your organization for facilitating the whole process!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!
