DuPage county estate planning attorney, Michael J. Drabant, is the owner of the Warrenville law firm, The Drabant Law Group, Ltd. Mike received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland, with a major in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He earned his J.D. and LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation, with honors, from The John Marshall Law School.

Prior to establishing The Drabant Law Group, Ltd., Mike worked for three years as an Associate Attorney with A. Traub & Associates. He has prior experience within the areas of estate planning, general civil litigation, family law, foreclosure defense and estate administration.

While attending law school, Mike served as a law clerk for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Civil Practice Division. He also worked for an estate planning law firm in Chicago, Illinois. Mike is an approved Guardian ad Litem (GAL) for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit of DuPage County where his work is focused on representing the best interests of children and disabled adults in guardianship proceedings.

Additionally, Mike is an active member of the DuPage County Bar Association where he has held the following positions: Law Day Committee Chair (2012-2013), Law Day Committee Vice-Chair (2011-2012), Diversity Committee Vice Chair (2012-2013), and Judges’ Nite Participant (2010-2013). He is currently the Diversity Committee Chair.

Mike’s published works include: “Having a Will can Save Arguments for Generations,” which was published in The Naperville Sun in May of 2010.
