Kianna's Story

18-month-old Kianna is an otherwise healthy and very friendly Alaskan Malamute that West Suburban Humane Society accepted into our care at her owner's request. Unfortunately, if she doesn’t get two new hips, her quality of life will degrade over the next few years. Kianna's primary vet and two orthopedic vets agree that no cheaper options are currently viable for Kianna and that she needs two new hips at a cost of at least $12,000 (incl. two surgeries and rehab). Purdue University has agreed to perform the two surgeries for the lowest cost we could find, but $12,000 is still much more than WSHS budgets spending on one dog. We need your help to get Kianna two new hips and allow her to live a long, pain free life with a loving family!

Every dollar raised in our Giving Tuesday campaign, running now through Dec 1st, will fund Kianna's surgeries, follow up appointments, and pre-surgery and post-surgery rehab.

WSHS is a 501(c)(3) and your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
