Therapy dogs are trained, affectionate pets that visit hospitals, schools, and nursing homes to provide psychological comfort, stress relief, and companionship to the public. Handled by their owners, they help release calming hormones like oxytocin in the people they interact with. Meet our WSHS Therapy Dog Team!

Wonder
Wonder was adopted from West Suburban Humane Society. She is half corgi and half mystery but she looks like a shrunken yellow lab. She is almost 10 years old but you would never guess it. She loves to be outside and take walks, play fetch with her toys inside, and will do any of her many tricks for the reward of a carrot. While wonder loves some play time, she is a very calm little 20 lb. dog who just loves nothing more than laying next to you and getting pats.
Tahlia
Tahlia is a 2 year old english creme golden retriever. She might be my crazy-as-bananas source of sunshine, but she is also gentle, sweet natured and loves snuggles. Her favorite things to do are chase rabbits in my backyard, play tug of war, and eat anything she can get her mouth on. She is love manifested and adores being touched and having her belly rubbed. You will never get bored with her around because she is always up for playing or just being silly. The best part of our day is going on long walks with my tiny maltipoo, her older sister, Sasha. Her curiosity, innocence, and abundance of joy are her most endearing qualities.
Luna
Luna was adopted from West Suburban Humane Society in 2019 at about one year old. She’s a delightful mix—half Husky/Pomeranian and half a blend of several other breeds—coming together to create a cheerful, affectionate dog. Luna loves other dogs, agility training, playing in the snow and long walks. Most of all, she thrives on attention—especially when it comes with plenty of belly rubs.
Piper
Piper is a 1.5 year old "miniature golden retriever, " but we just call her "fun size." She is 80% golden retriever and 20% cocker spaniel. Piper loves long walks, playing outside (even when it is freezing), belly rubs and snuggling next to me when I am reading. Probably Piper's best trait is that once she knows you, she loves you.
