Leave a Legacy

Leaving a gift to the West Suburban Humane Society in your estate plan or other planned gift arrangement is a smart way to ensure you have enough funds to provide for your own needs while living, yet leave a lasting legacy that makes a positive impact on our dogs and cats. Planned gifts helped WSHS weather the recession of 2008-2012 and were the cornerstone that built our amazing Adoption Center.

West Suburban Humane Society created a Legacy Society so that we can thank and celebrate you for leaving us a bequest or planned gift. We hold exclusive thank you events (in 2021, we had a wine tasting with Fire + Wine at our Adoption Center) and recognize Legacy Society members in select publications.

Estate planning is also a great way to ensure your pets are cared for after you pass. In October 2021, Michael-Anne Peck of Itasca Bank & Trust gave a very informative presentation on how to plan for your pet in your will or trust.

Everyone can ensure their pets are cared for and secure their legacy with West Suburban Humane Society. For more information on how to leave a planned gift to West Suburban Humane Society, please click here.

If you have any questions or wish to tell us the good news that you’ve included us in your planning and want to join our Legacy Society, please contact our Director of Development, Heather Kash, at (630) 442-0671 or email her This email address is being protected from spambots.
